Kibworth Beauchamp is an attractive and thriving village located between Leicester and Market Harborough in Leicestershire.
It is an ancient settlement, but also one with modern aspirations, and since the industrial revolution it has seen a mix of agriculture and industry, of small businesses and pioneers.
Kibworth Beauchamp became known nationally in 2010 when TV historian Michael Wood chose the villages of Kibworth Beauchamp, Kibworth Harcourt and Smeeton Westerby as the location for his ground-breaking 'Story of England' series.
We will be on television again during 2012 in Michael's follow-up series 'Great British Story'.
The village values its local facilities, and these include our Parish Church and Methodist Chapel, Post Office, two GP practices, a Junior School and High School, a chemist, an optician, a library, a village hall and the highly-acclaimed Kibworth Grammar School Hall, business parks, lots of open spaces and play areas, a Working Men's Club (for women too!), many sporting activities including golf, tennis, cricket and bowls, and an abundance of diverse restaurants and takeaways to suit all palettes!
We work closely with our neighbours in Kibworth Harcourt, so please do visit their website as well.
The village is planning four days of events to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of Her Majesty the Queen. Please follow the link in the left-hand column for details of all the planned events
Kibworth Beauchamp Parish Council has seven Councillors and a salaried Clerk. Meetings are usually held on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 7.00 pm, at Kibworth High School in Smeeton Road. Members of the public are welcome to attend. They may address the meeting about any item on the agenda. There is always a specific time on the agenda for this.
