A 7.5 ton weight limit is about to be implemented which will divert large vehicles down Warwick Road and as this is a distributor road, it is clear that the absence of a footpath across the bridge has led to an unacceptable level of danger.

Both Parish Councils have been pursing the housing developer and Network Rail since mid 2008.

The Parish Council has now decided to bring this matter to the attention of the Secretary of State for Transport in an attempt to resolve the problems.

The Parish Council have agreed to take part in a project to highlight village life.

If Kibworth is choosen then we understand that the broadcasters will be seeking individuals, families, charitable groups and organisation to attend an open village meeting to put forward their views and opinions, and voice their memories, experiences and hopes for the rural community.

The East Midlands Fire and Rescue Control centre has advised that as part of a national Government initiative nine regional Fire and Rescue Control Centres are to be established across the country, and the East Midlands centre - based at Castle Donington - will be one of the first to be fully operational.

The Spinal Injuries Association is inviting people to hold a fish and chip supper to help spinal cord injured people to live full and independent lives. Please see attached poster for details.

There will be lots of things to do and see including:

Kibworth Primary School choir will be singing outside the The Old Swan from approximately 6-30pm until 7.30pm

There will be a street entertainer.

A small fair will be held in the courtyard opposite Smeeton Road.

Father Christmas will be appearing at the Moko Coffee Shop
